One of the things the Community Council does is to give grants to local groups and organisations to do things which make our villages a better place to live in. We recently gave two small grants to the Wrexham Rugby Union Football Club to help them run mixed rugby training sessions in our two local primary schools. As you can see from the photos the children really got stuck in (despite the weather) and look like they are really enjoying themselves. The sessions are led by Welsh rugby legend Rachel Taylor and our own Cllr Denzil Brockhurst. Children from All Saints and Rofft – plus Cllr Beryl Blackmore (though we haven’t got a photo of her tackling anyone yet) can be seen in the pics. Darland Y10 student, Iestyn Brockhurst, who has been selected and played for RGC, has also helped out with the training.
