Ruth - Community Agent
Hello!
My name is Ruth Thompson and I commenced my post as the Gresford and Marford Community Agent on 1st April 2020. I previously worked for the NHS for 42 years as a nurse, midwife and Health Visitor; I worked in Gresford, Marford, Hoseley and Rossett from 1993 until 2011, so I know this area well. In my new role I can support anyone over 50 who needs advice and support or signposting to relevant services, though I can only offer telephone support during the current COVID-19 restrictions. Once the restrictions no longer apply I will be able to offer home visits to older people who would like this service. I may also be able to pick up prescriptions and shopping for vulnerable older people – get in touch so that I can see how I might be able to help you – I work two days a week normally a Tuesday and Thursday. I will also be able to set up new groups. If there any gaps that you feel would be useful to fill, please let me know. For instance, I am trained in relaxation techniques and would be happy to set up a group to learn these techniques to help relieve stress and anxiety.
I look forward to hearing from you and visiting some of you when I can in the future. Please contact me by ‘phone on 07747 431607 or email communityagent@gresfordcommunitycouncil.gov.uk if you have any enquiries.
